Dear Client,
What happened to July? There is some huge news (see below) and I also took some well overdue annual leave - I'm sorry to say that I over-looked our July eNewsletter!!
However, July has heralded a new beginning for Image Direct with
the introduction of our new Company Director.
I am so very pleased (oh and did I mention very, very excited!) to
announce the arrival of Jim Radford as my new business partner and fellow

For the second year in a row, Image Direct have made it into the top 5 as Finalists in the Bendigo Bank 2009 Gippsland Business Awards. The Gala Awards night is on Friday 28 August - I'll keep you posted!
As a new spot in the newsletter,
we also intend to feature some of our key clients who are doing
interesting and innovative things - this month, Kim Wood Coaching gets
a look in!
As always, we hope our newsletter finds you happy and healthy
and remember that this is a permission-based only email - although we'd
be sad to see you go, you can safely unsubscribe or re-subscribe at any time.
Have a great month!

Westpac Temporary Banking Facility
|
Following
the StreetEats fire (Franklin Street, Traralgon) that started around
3:25am Monday 27th of July, Image Direct stepped in to assist the
Westpac bank get up and running again with in hours of the fire.
SteetEats has been destroyed and neighbouring shops, Panthers Mensland, an
Antique Shop in Seymour Street and the WESTPAC Bank have suffered smoke
damage. Traralgon CFA Incident controller,
Trevor Hair, said fire fighters contained the blaze in about 45mins.
CFA crews from Traralgon, Morwell and Traralgon West responded to the
blaze with support from Dandenong Aerial Platform. The platform was
used to help fight the fire from above because the structural damage
made the building too dangerous to enter. (fire info extracted from the CFA website - Posted by Terry Goodwin CFA Member).
Westpac
Bank Manager, Ric McFarlane, had only been in his new job 2 weeks when
he found himself with no bank branch! Ric quickly worked out temporary
security, IT and communications arrangements in the Image Direct
Boardroom and the Westpac are offering nearly all their regular
services from the temporary site.
Ric says that the bank plans
to be back in their usual place of business no earlier than the 21st
August but should be no later than the end of the month.
Westpac Bank customers can contact Ric directly on 0429 564 867 and can do all their banking as usual at Image Direct between 9:00am & 5:00pm Monday to Friday.
(Note: Image Direct have CCTV & back to base alarms - there is No Cash kept on premises out of hours - an guard is on site during banking hours)

A New Beginning...
|
Following the
continual growth of Image Direct, I decided the time was right for a fresh
injection of ideas and business management skills to enable Image Direct to
continue to develop as a leading design & print business.
In my quest to
find a innovative business partner, I went global where I uncovered former Gippslander Jim
Radford, living and working in Kuala Lumpur who consequently was looking for a
Gippsland based business opportunity so that he could return home to be near his family and indeed, start his own family. Born in Morwell in the old Maternity Hospital, Jim
has been married to his beautiful wife, Helena, for 3 years. Helena originates
from China, and Jim and Helena met while working in Japan.
Between Jim and Helena they speak 7
languages. Jim's career has taken him all over the world, he
has worked and studied in New Zealand, Japan, New Caledonia and Malaysia,
and most recently he has been working for MYOB in Kuala Lumpur as a Software
Support and then Manager of the Superannuation
Taxation processing team.
Jim is currently
studying for his Masters of Taxation with Curtin University in Perth. In May 2009, Jim and Helena made the decision
to move back to Gippsland so Jim could be closer to his extended family.
With a move back to Gippsland imminent, Jim was
looking for business investment opportunities when our business paths collided,
the rest you could say is now history.
Jim's business background and credentials are impressive
and extensive. He has worked in 19
different McDonald's Stores throughout Victoria, Tasmania and New Zealand over
a 13 year period and then 10 years ago he moved to Townsville in North
Queensland and started a bookkeeping business which he grew to
22 franchises across Queensland.
While
Jim is new to the graphic design, printing and web-development industries he is
dedicated to further developing the excellent customer and manufacturing
systems that my team and I has built up over the years. Jim is totally committed
to facilitating business operations for Image Direct and servicing the needs of
the local and national business communities without which Image Direct would
not exist today.
You can contact Jim on 0413 067 345 or email him jim@imagedirect.com.au
We are 6 weeks in and Jim has had a really positive impact on the team and on the business. Welcome aboard Jim!!
