Yesterday, Google rolled out its Google My Business suite, which is a ‘one-stop-shop’ for small businesses looking to be found on the search engine.
But what is it, exactly?
I’ve previously blogged about the necessity of having a Google+ profile for your business, and I’ve made Google Places submissions for many of our clients. Google My Business combines the two, along with Google Maps, to ensure customers can find your business by having the tools to update all of the above in one place, thus simplifying the process.
As explained on TechCrunch:
After signing up and filling in the requisite information, Google My Business will add the business information to Google Search, Google Maps and Google+, allowing customers to find the business no matter what device or service they happen to be using at the time. Companies are also invited to add photos and virtual tours, read and respond to their Google reviews, as well as add or correct business information like address, phone, store hours and more.
Additionally, there is a Google My Business app already available on Google Play.
We at Image Direct feel that this is a positive development for local businesses, and a welcome consolidation of how we already help our clients get found on Google.
