As our clients already know, the Image Direct Team take web security very seriously. Thankfully, it appears that Google does too. In fact, Google believes that web site security should be so normal that we shouldn’t even notice it–unless it isn’t there.

So, “say goodbye to that little green security lock” in Google Chrome, and prepare to be advised if the page you’re viewing is being served in a non secure manner.

If you haven’t already done so, this announcement from Google might suggest that it’s time to upgrade your current website’s security with Image Direct’s HTTPS Upgrade Service.

Upgrading to HTTPS has been shown to Increase visitor trust,  improve your SEO ranking and secure your end-to-end data from prying eyes.

Google will decide to make a huge deal out of people visiting non-HTTPS websites, with a red warning icon and a “Not secure” label in the URL bar. That’ll start showing this October.

For more information on the benefits of upgrading to HTTPS, please be sure to contact the Team at Image Direct

Google says security should be so normal you don’t see it. But bad security should be in your face.
